The curriculum designed for the students of Iqra Rauzatul Quran is an example in itself catering all requirements of modern scientific education and following the moral and ethical beliefs of Islam, fulfilling demands of every student at every level. Special curriculum based on ‘less time, more outcome’ is designed for Hifz e Quran section.
Overall our curriculum is according to National curriculum of Pakistan, assistance and publications provided by Association for Academic Quality.
A child’s first years at school – the formative years are full of the joys of discovery. This is where a child begins to acquire a sense of individual identity and to recognize the importance and relevance of immediate surroundings. Learning about appropriate behavior, or how to interact and share with others, is all part of this discovery process. In the early years we have an activity based curriculum and learning through play techniques. This introduce children to the basics of essential life skills – such as sharing, problem – solving, respect for religion and negotiation, as they take their first steps towards becoming creative learners. Quran is the word of Allah. The content it has, the meaning it carries are unmatchable and not to be found in any book in the world. Pertaining to the decorated prose style, the true effect of Quran can be observed and experienced. From linguistics point of view, the word ‘Tajweed’ actually means ‘doing something well’. Therefore, if Tajweed is to be considered with regards to Quran, it means learning and reciting Quran in the proper way. Therefore, when every letter is pronounced with proper understanding and the way it deserves to be recited, it means that Quran is being recited with Tajweed. Special arrangements have been made for teaching of ‘Quaida’, a well explained featured book designed by Iqra Rauzatul Quran, pre-requisite for recitation of Quran with Qawaid-e-Tajweed. Lessons of Islamic history, Seerat e Muhammad ﷺ , lives of Sahaba (RA) and masnoon methods of doings of everyday deeds are also included. Ablution, prays and prayers are taught to students practically.
Iqra Rauzatul Quran in KPK is the pioneer of launching Hifz e Quran classes along with English medium and scientific education under one roof with a view to give an overriding status to the noble practice of committing the Holy Quran to memory. Students of Iqra Rauzatul Quran may opt for an exclusive Hifz Program. In this program, students take a break of approximately 3 years from their regular studies for the noble cause of memorization of the Holy Qur’an in a safe and positive learning environment. Along with memorization of the complete Holy Qur’an and various supplications, attention is also given to other essential areas of development through various classes including tarbiyyah sessions and communication development classes. The above mentioned schedule is designed according to the caliber of an average student. If your child is slower according to the mentioned curriculum, a meeting of parent, teacher, academic coordinator and section in charge will be conducted. Every student’s progress is maintained in student’s diary on regular basis, so that parent may follow up their child easily.
A low student to teacher ratio of 18:1 helps the teachers give individual attention to each student. The Hifz program is offered to both boys and girls who are at least 8 years. Syed Sikandar Ali Shah (11 years) had his takmeel e Hifz e Quran in 153 days (5 months) after his enrolment into the program.
The program produced its first Hafiz on 1st February 2000. Al-Hamdulillah till now more than 1200 students have memorized the Holy Quran and appeared in the exam conducted by Wafaq ul Madaris Al-Arabia, Pakistan and more than 90% of the students have got A+ grades.
All of these Huffaz will be an undeniable source of divine blessings for us and salvation for their parent as well on the day of judgement.
Iqra Rauzatul Quran is a unique school of its own kind where English medium is used to educate the students giving them the advance worldly knowledge imparting them knowledge and light of Islam. We feel proud to say that Iqra Rauzatul Quran is among those pioneer schools of Pakistan where all the students are Huffaz e Quran in Secondary School. There are fast track classes in this section. After Hifz e Quran, students are promoted to class 3rd, where they receive the right support and guidance to enable them to be successful in class and beyond. From class 3rd to 5th the students are made to recover and fill all the gaps (of time and studies) occurred during Hifz e Quran and thus students become more efficient and intelligent in studies. Our curricular and extra-curricular activities are designed to bring out the innate curiosity of children and to enable them to discover their talent and skills. The students from class 6th to 10th are taught by specialist teachers. Students need to have a broad and balance range of subjects. Students up to Matric become self-directed learners, independent thinkers and confident individuals with all the skills necessary in the 21st century.
